DT Seguras Crafts: Birthday Card for a Teenager Boy

Dear scrappers,

Here is my next design for the company: Seguras Crafts.

Just as a reminder, this month Seguras Crafts is dedicating this “Twinkle Toes and Tails” set to the Lupus Awareness Month:

My son is turning 18, so I decided to make a birthday card for him. It is kind of hard to make a card for a grumpy teen boy, but Seguras Crafts soon-to-be-released stamp, Emotions and Opposite is perfect to express my feelings toward my son and reassure him that his feelings are valid.

I also used this sketch as inspiration to make my card:

To follow the sketch, I die cut two different tags for the main part: I used the Cloud of Hope from Seguras Crafts printed papers (finally out) for the bigger tag and the punched scallop circle accent and white (CTMH) cardstock for the smaller tag (Tattered Lace dies). I used tranquil tide for the background and mystic grace purple cardstock for the strip. I chose the two images from the stamp set I saw to reflect my son’s emotions (sometimes quick to anger/ grumpy and most times my chill boy) and the sentiments to reflect his states:

I really like the unified hands, with the hart inside, are perfect for our small family of 4, all united to help each other through the good and the bad times. I stamped on either Cloud of Hope (for the scalloped punched circle) or white cardstock (CTMH) using StanzOn and the stamping platform.

I also cut the Happy Birthday sentiment out of Anthracyte cardstock and glued it to the inside of the card along with die cut and stamped rectangle.

I made a little video of my process:

DT Seguras Crafts: Believe Easter Card

Dear scrappers,

Here is my next design for the company: Seguras Crafts.
This time I decided to make an easter’s card for someone very special for my family. I loved how the  “Believe In Yourself” stamp is versatile that I can even use it for a religious card. I just focused on the “Believe” part. I rummaged through my craft stash and found this old but unused stepper card die from Tattered Lace. Just perfect. I also used some ready made cards and tricked it into fitting the die.
I used the Cloud of Hope from Seguras Crafts (coming soon, stay posted) was just what I needed for the background. Focusing on the sentiment it helps to imaging that beliefs are cosmic in nature and this paper brings so much hope in life, nature, and our own religious believes.
I was so surprised that inside the tattered lace die set, the Easter Lilies die was included and remembered that I had the perfect cross (CMTH) available in my never ending crafting stash.

I also used Seguras high quality cardstocks (I’m still working on the affiliated links, until then, I will just add direct links to the products that I use) for diecutting the cross and stamping the sentiment. I used Anthracyte and Crystal vision purpleI really love the nice pearlescent shimmer of this cardstocks. You can see it best on the cross:

I really enjoyed this project and hope it does bring some happiness and love to our dear friends starting a new beginning in a new city, but close to their family. We really miss them and wanted to express it in our card:

For this post I wanted to try to make a little video of my process. I am terrible at expressing with words my feelings but hopefully my work speaks for my feelings. Here we go:

Craftwell DT: Fall Festival Goodies

Hi,

This is my next post for Craftwell.

Every year my daughter's troop host a fall festival at the pumpkin patch, so I searched Pinterest and came up with several ideas for dressing up fall goodies:

Reese candy holders:

These pumpkin (orange flavored) gummies were my favorite:

I die-cut several tags and stamped them with fall sentiments, the same with the acorns, sunflowers, and pumpkins. I used all the different shaped pumpkin dies I had as well as the sunflowers and acorns.

The instructions for the Ferrero Rocher containers, I found them in Pinterest and followed them.
