Monthly Challenge # 37: Chalk it Up: Paper-Organizer Tags

Dear Scrappers,

I am not an expert doing tag, but I thought I give it a trial for my take to our DT challenge:

You can see all the other DT project and more details about this fun challenge here at Connie Can Crop. The sponsor for this challenge is: Paper Nest Dolls

I needed a label for a paper organizer I've bought for my husband and decided to use this one to give him something nice to look at while doing boring paperwork.

Besides using the chalk(board) inspiration from Connie, I decided to do a front part of the tag using altered letters following the Compendium of Curiosities 3, Challenge 33:

"Altered surfaces"

I can get into details about the technique, but you can find it in page 45 of this book.
The sponsor of this wonderful CC3-challenge 33 is:

"The wonderful Joy and her family at Inspiration Emporium sponsor all our odd-numbered challenges, and they’re back with another fantastic FIFTY DOLLAR SHOPPING SPREE for one lucky CC3C entrant! "

The finished label:

Here is how I upcycled a tag from a Cold Water Creek label:

 Front

Back

I added some stenciling to the background of the already cool and very vintage tag.

 The back.

The back was more plain, so i decided to use some background stamping as well.

I cut some "chalkboard" vinyl labels I had in my stash

I embossed stamped letters some letters using archival ink and sprinkled some pearl embossing powder.

Then, I added a greater chalking using a chalk pen from also my stash. you can find it here.

The front, I kept simple to highlight the "altered" letters and added some numbers and a "+" sign using some cut stickers.

I stamped some numbers into the smaller tags and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.
The final front tag with the smaller number tags.

The paper organizer with improvised post-it tags.

 Now with the new tags:
 Each division gets a number...

The back of the tag in case it turns around...

I still need to make 2 larger tags for the other 2 bigger sections and I should be done with this fun project.

I hope you enjoy this organization project and give me some sugar ;-)
Have a very blessed weekend,

Labels for Lightswitch

Dear Scrappers,

A small project I did for the Compendium of Curiosities 3, Challenge 33:

"Altered surfaces"

This great Vol. 3 of Compendium of Curiosities, from our dear Master Tim Holtz, is filled with great techniques and I was preparing another project for Connie Can Crop and decided to use this technique for this Lightswitch labels too:

I had struggled since we moved to this new house with the multiple light switches throughout the whole house and found this labels a perfect solution:

 For the Extractor:
 For the heater:
 And of course the light:

This is the whole light switch panel with the beautiful altered letters as labels. I can't get into details about the technique, but you can find it in page 45 of this book.

The sponsor of this wonderful challenge is:

"The wonderful Joy and her family at Inspiration Emporium sponsor all our odd-numbered challenges, and they’re back with another fantastic FIFTY DOLLAR SHOPPING SPREE for one lucky CC3C entrant! "

I hope you enjoy this easy peace project and give me some sugar ;-)
Have a very blessed weekend,

Picture Frames/ Bookends

Dear Scrappers,

Today I'm posting last minute for our dear DT Daphne, who is becoming a Grandma, please head here and give her some love.

Here is my last minute project for Connie Can Crop:

I made these bookends (only one shown here, I'm saving the other one for a later post) for my husband birthday. This Bookend has a see-through divider between the 2 glasses. I used it a shadow box and made a dimensional layout and was able to display a picture in the back as well:

Some closer looks:

The 3D effect:

The back again:

I used some  discontinued CTMH papers and embellishments.
You can find the new collections here.

I am entering this project to the "Challenge #105 Anything Goes"

First Day of School Layout for Connie Can Crop

Dear Scrappers,

Today is my day to post

Inspired by a file from
I created a scrapbooking layout for this year's first day of school:

I used my iPad's cricut app to design this layout to cut
in my Explorer. I used the Apple box CF from Paper Crafting World.
and the rest of the layout is from the Artbooking Cartridge (CTMH).
This was a very easy project and it took me no time to design it (while I was waiting for my kiddos at a fun place) and to cut it.

I cut directly from my iPad using the bluetooth attachment.

I made some adjustments to the box to make it a pocket for my layout:

I cut part of the side of the box to make it less deep and glued the sides together.

A closer look to the pocket...

Other materials I used from my stash...

CMTH papers and letter stickers from October Afternoon

Make sure you stop by and check out all the designs at Paper Crafting World...

Here is my project: a mini-album by Heart of Texas and with the great cricut shapes cut from from our great sponsor's file:  sea shell cuts ,
Which I modified using Tim Holtz techniques and paints.

A closer look to the front page. I used the new Tim’s Frosted Film technique in the CCC3 challenge hosted by Linda Ledbetter
You can take a better look at this technique in this picture.

The second page.

The third page with more seashells from this svg file and many more distressing techniques from Tim.

The last page, I have so far. The rest of the album will follow, when I get more inspiration...

Some closer looks:

I bought some of this glitter shapes and distressed them with abandoned coral distressing ink to make them funkier...

I love how this seagull ended up looking.

I used some cracked pistachio and the white crackling paint to get the old look of the many old victorian houses in this island.

A closer look to the seashells and star fish.
