For this blog hop, I decided to finally scrapbook those pictures I took the first day of 2017, when the whole family went to a stroll through the Chinese Garden here in San Antonio:

I got inspired by two sketches from on-going challenges that i follow:

I used sketch n scrap blog's sketch for May:

But decided to make it a flap to add more pictures from this fun day:

I attached the flap using this Asian themed border stickers:

And added another flap using 2 pictures to hide one more bellow:

I just realized that I added a picture backwards... LOL...

For the other page:

I used this sketch from: even more scrapping blog:

I didn't  modified this sketch as much and love how these border stickers of bamboo sticks and leaves work so well with this sketch.

For the title, I used more old old alpha stickers:

For the embellishments I used more stickers and some die cuts left over from an old project, using the tattered lace dies and specialty papers:

The Chinese (at least I think they are) characters are also stickers bought more than 9 years ago either through eBay or at a CKC...

Some of the materials I used:

I ended up not using all dies and neither the CE and Fern Studio die cuts. But I was very happy to have finally used those more than 9 year old stickers I had... the glue was still very good...

Next head on over to

Paper Wings Productions DT:

Hi everyone!

Today is my day to share with you a DT inspiration project for Paper Wings Productions (The Aviary), today:
A Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, made using Virgen de Guadalupe stamp set and build-a-shrine-cling-stamp-set, some wooden die cut pieces, some lace ribbon (last three included in the natural-mixed-media-kit), and some other goodies from my stash:

Here you can see more details:

I made my first video tutorial to show the steps of this project and the materials, I used. Please bear with my strong accent and hesitations, I'm still learning this method:

I hope you enjoyed this mixed media project and leave some love.

Many blessings,

Vicky

Guest Designer @ Scrapping4funChallenges

Dear scrappers,

I was honored to be asked to guest design for Scrapping4funChallenges  blogspot.
The challenge is:
Challenge #86 - Recycling / Old Stash

Thus, I decided to get my accumulated old stash for St. Patrick's day and make some home decor:

I recycled some packaging to make the tag, and my stash from a few years of accumulation from Graphic 45, some Paper Source hand made paper I bought in Boston last year, some old burlap cardstock from previous projects, leftover metal slider for the hat, glitter ribbon so old... ,  glitter paste from BoBunny and stencils, some liquid metallic turquoise ink, 3 D gluedots, Dollar tree stickers, and glitter flowers with the 4 leaves clover. The wooden plate is from Target.

Here are some close-up pictures:

I will post an SnapGuide soon with details about how I made this mixed media homedecor piece. Please check back this post again to find the link here.
I hope you decide to join this challenge and enjoy the other very talented designers projects too.
I hope enjoy this project,

Many blessings

Vicky Tovar
