For this Blog Hop, I decided to continue my Galveston album, long time in progress and almost done. I tried to do a very colorful and bright page and what better option than using foil...

Other pages: catch-wave-blog-hop, monthly-challenge-61CCC3 challenge and each year:
This is the back of this page:

The back of the album:

The front of the album:

Material:

Foil, Ranger

DecoFoil glue
3d zots

Liquid Gloss, Ranger
Ikea specialty cardboard
 Bazzil paper
 mini-album by Heart of Texas
Tags, TH, Ranger
Glitter paste, BoBunny

In short: I added a CTMH loop pin to one corner of the cardboard page and hung the TH tag and metallic button using some twine:

from the back:

I added some foil to one of the included cardboard shapes:

One color:

then the other:

and added it to the metallic button:

I foiled the other shapes and attached the corrugated cardboard squares to the page. The added some glitter paste using the cap of the glue as stamp:

I was trying to mimic the bubbles pattern from the cardboard shape:

I cut some shells from the clickart page included in this kit and pasted them here and there:

I'm planning to add a picture to the shuffle and maybe one or two to the corrugated cardboard squares:

I stamped and foiled the sentiment, and stamped it again in top with ink to get a shadowed effect:

It's not perfect, but still readable and I like the effect of the foil:

I hope you enjoyed my page and continue this fun and colorful hop:

For this blog post, I decided to use a painting that I have been working on lately. This is the month of our Lady, thus, who best to thank than her. I have been making this mixed media painting for my daughter and even though is not completely finish, it showcases my thanks to Our Lady of the Valley and to Venezuela (for more info about the Virgin, please click here and here):

I still need to retouch a lot of the veil and the dress because it got messed up with the heat gun...
I took inspiration on these images and combined in this mixed media creation:

I took the background idea from this painting I found online:

I decided to used tissue paper in the Venezuelan flag vibrant colors and modpodge it to the canvas.

Then I added clear gesso to the whole background and white to the Virgin image and the 6 starts.

Then I tried to paint it and darken the background some.

Later I went with a little of white, but I wasn't happy with it yet.

I used some crackling paste and mixed it with gold acrylics and added some flourish to add some shine to the back of the Virgin.

After taking my teachers advice, I made the figure of the Virgin narrower...

I still didn't like my background as much, thus, I did more stencilling using TH stencils and darken paintings. I also added some Pearl embossing paste (Farber Castle) and stencilled the stars.

For the dress decoration, I decided to used PWP Building a Shrine cling stamps. And heat embossed using Versa Mark ink and Egyptian Gold podwer.

However, my heating gun messed up my white paint and let it show the other layers... I need to fix this now.

I painted the stars and the crown gold using liquid leaf ink.

I love how it makes the texture of the stars more evident.

I still need to glue the decenary and the crown, and to add some Pearl pen to the edges of the veil, but for now it's ok.

I love how the stamps work so great as the dress decoration.

I hope you liked my work in progress.
