DT Seguras Crafts: Birthday Card for a Teenager Boy

Dear scrappers,

Here is my next design for the company: Seguras Crafts.

Just as a reminder, this month Seguras Crafts is dedicating this “Twinkle Toes and Tails” set to the Lupus Awareness Month:

My son is turning 18, so I decided to make a birthday card for him. It is kind of hard to make a card for a grumpy teen boy, but Seguras Crafts soon-to-be-released stamp, Emotions and Opposite is perfect to express my feelings toward my son and reassure him that his feelings are valid.

I also used this sketch as inspiration to make my card:

To follow the sketch, I die cut two different tags for the main part: I used the Cloud of Hope from Seguras Crafts printed papers (finally out) for the bigger tag and the punched scallop circle accent and white (CTMH) cardstock for the smaller tag (Tattered Lace dies). I used tranquil tide for the background and mystic grace purple cardstock for the strip. I chose the two images from the stamp set I saw to reflect my son’s emotions (sometimes quick to anger/ grumpy and most times my chill boy) and the sentiments to reflect his states:

I really like the unified hands, with the hart inside, are perfect for our small family of 4, all united to help each other through the good and the bad times. I stamped on either Cloud of Hope (for the scalloped punched circle) or white cardstock (CTMH) using StanzOn and the stamping platform.

I also cut the Happy Birthday sentiment out of Anthracyte cardstock and glued it to the inside of the card along with die cut and stamped rectangle.

I made a little video of my process:

DT Seguras Crafts: Banner for Lupus Awareness

Dear scrappers,

Here is my next design for the company: Seguras Crafts.

This month Seguras Crafts is dedicating this “Twinkle Toes and Tails” set to the Lupus Awareness Month:

When I saw this stamp set, I decided that I wanted to make a nice banner for my school office board. I love the little mice ballerinas and the amazingly assertive sentiments. Perfect for the little ones that come to my office sometimes just wanting to hang out and relax.

It goes so well with the shaker tag I made previously that I decided to include in the banner:

For this banner, I used the Cloud of Hope from Seguras Crafts printed papers (finally out) for the background and I remembered an old banner die I had in my stash and used it. This banner die needs and insert, so I cut some tags out of different papers: white (CTMH), tranquil tidePetal Whisper Pink and Crystal vision purplpearlescent cardstocks using an old die from my stash (Tattered Lace). I stamped the little dancing mice using Stanzon and colored the mice with distress markers (TH Rangers). The pearlescent cardstock were particularly good for blending the markers:

Now, I know to use those cardstocks instead of the regular ones that are too adsorbent.

I added the purple rhinestones (gems) that came with the stamps and added more rhinestones to the Prima rhinestone stickers. I colored the prima stickers using a purple alcohol marker to tie everything together.

I really enjoyed this project and how it hangs in my board:

DT Seguras Crafts: Mother’s Day Card

Dear scrappers,

Here is my next design for the company: Seguras Crafts.

I wanted to make a special card for my mom. So I started by choosing a nice sketch:

And work my way from there, then I went to choose a colors palette:

I really enjoy color palette challenges because they push me to think outside the box. And I knew these colors are nicely represented by the Cloud of Hope from Seguras Crafts printed papers (coming soon, stay posted) and who doesn’t love Star Wars. I choose the page with the most colors in this palette and which would go with my mom’s personality. She is very active and has a very strong personality, so very well represented by the contrast of the blue-peach pink in the papers I chose. My mom actually loves purple and mauve, but I think this contrast is more her:

I used the rectangle die from made-to-surprise interactive die set available at Seguras Crafts to die cut the printed paper layer. For the little dove tail I used a die from a Tonics set.
I used the Mothers love 6x8 stamp set for the cute little girl and mom image and the “I’ll always be your baby” sentiment for the tag. After I glued everything, I chose the embellishments to go with the color scheme and added rhinestones in Ocean Bliss to make the card more cheerful. I even added more rhinestones to the Prima rhinestone stickers to tie everything together.

For the inside, I chose the “Happy Mothers Day” sentiment from Seguras Crafts and stamped it on Petal Whisper Pink pearlescent cardstock. I later used a rectangular die to give it some texture and glued to the card base:

DT Seguras Crafts: Fiesta Bookmarks for Teacher’s Appreciation Week

Dear scrappers,

Here is my next design for the company: Seguras Crafts.
This time I decided to make bookmarks for my school teachers for their appreciation week. I used sentiments from the  “Believe In Yourself” and another soon-to-be-released stamp, Emotions and Opposite. These sentiments were perfect for affirmations to the wonderful job teachers do.

I really enjoyed making these no-two of the same bookmarks and ended up making 40 of them. To appreciate all the teachers and staff of kids’ school and my day job.

I also added Seguras Crafts’ Rhinestones In And Opal Glow and Ocean Bliss to add some shine. These rhinestones are so glossy that are perfect for this effect even with the busy fiesta patter of the Crafty Chica’s papers or the neon bright solid papers.

I had some paper frills from Doodle Bug Design, which were perfect for stamping the sentiments and to add more sass to the bookmark. The same with old unknown source of rhinestone ribbon in red, which I trimmed to the wide and length I needed.

I general, I love the bright colors of Fiesta and I’m very glad that San Antonio’s fiesta fell the same week than teacher’s appreciation. Some teachers were even joking that they could use the bookmarks as fiesta medals 😁

Here are some of the bookmarks I did. I missed some of them from the pictures:

For this post I tried to make a little video of my process. I really tried to bring the teachers and staff some happy thoughts by using very bright colors and fiesta-themed patters . Here we go:
