Pile It On! #124 - Colorfully Aware

The theme this fortnight at Pile It On is Colorfully Aware (Be inspired by the colors of an Awareness Ribbon)


To begin the new year, the next month will be our first annual Charity Challenge! Thirty dollars will be gifted to the charity of choice of one lucky winner (randomly chosen from challenges #124 & #125.)

The Top Picks for this challenge will be announced on January 29, and Top Picks for challenge #125 & the Prize Winner will be announced on February 12.

Dear Scrappers,

For this challenge, I though about my father, who is almost officially in remission after having to go through painful treatments for his Basal Cell carcinoma (type of skin cancer). His birthday is on February 18 and he might be visiting his family at that point, so I decided to make him a card just so:

I started with this empty envelope and made a pocket card scraplifting and idea from my friend Carol...


This is the final card, using the lavender ribbon and wings die cuts.


I added a ribbon to keep the card shut.


The inside of the card, with the pocket for a gift card or in my case a bookmark, I'm planning to make for my father:


I used the new tool Carol gave for Christmas: the groove and distressed all edges of the papers using twilight ink from CTMH. All papers, envelope and ribbon are CTMH as well. The die is from spellbinders and the stamp I can really recall.
