Here is my project: a mini-album by Heart of Texas and with the great cricut shapes cut from from our great sponsor's file:  sea shell cuts ,

Which I modified using Tim Holtz techniques and paints.

Some closer looks: 

 I bought some of this glitter shapes and distressed them with abandoned coral distressing ink to make them funkier...

 I love how this seagull ended up looking. 

 I used some cracked pistachio and the white crackling paint to get the old look of the many old victorian houses in this island.

Visit to Croppin Bug

Dear scrappers,
As many of you know, I'm with my Family on vacation to Galveston, TX, where we used to live for a long time (almost 10 years). While living there, I used to go to Croppin Bug  in Texas City for my scrapbooking supplies, crops, and classes.

 Well, the store was recently relocated closer to our vacation home, yeahhhhh
Thus, I was dying to visit the new location, and was very pleased with its new location, thus I wanted to share  the updates with my fellow scrappers from the Galveston-Houston area.

 The new location is much bigger, and brighter.
You can crop during the day, while there is no classes on those tables in center of the store. Very convenient :-)

 The store has a great selection of Tim's products... a very good prices.

 Some of the trendy tools are available too.

 I got some local scrapbooking supplies, such as the Galveston Album from Heart of Texas Studio... and papers.

 The new color mini distressing inks and some Mini Ink Blending Replacement Foams, which are sold by the unit (very convenient and inexpensive, great deal). The applicators are sold separately too.

 I also found this Spurs stickers in the their 1/2 off section, and some religious stickers for my son's 1st communion/ confirmation layout.

 I found some San Francisco papers as well, maybe I will to finally make the scrapbooking pages from our family summer vacation from 2 years ;-)

 I couldn't pass on this Frozen album and stickers for my daughter...

 Some Nasa stickers and space related papers for my son...

 And Lego papers and stickers for both.

I also learned a new trick from the Neva, the store owner... cool, I can keep each ink together with its foam...
Also, this week there will be a huge Album sale at the store.

Stars & Stripes July Challenge #36

Dear scrappers,
This is my first design and post for Connie Can Crop and we started this month with Connie's Star n' Stripes challenge. Make sure you visit her blog and add your fun project for a chance to win:

Without further, here is my project for this challenge:

 I made this wall hanging for a friend, who is moving to NC, thus I made it to remember her of our stamping group, of our great city and of our state...

 I applied some of CCC3 techniques: distress watercoloring and eroded metal,  I used the star and the banner dimensional element from CTMH.

 Here are some further details for the picture and its background:

 I distressed the picture using vintage photo distress ink and added a frame using borders from Idea-ology.

Texas Shaped K-cups Holder- Compendium of Curiosities 3, Challenge #31!

Dear scrappers,
I had bought a K-cup holder in the shape of Texas for my husband for Fathers' day and was struggling about how to decorate it in a more innovative way and bingo, the latest challenge from:
Compendium of Curiosities 3, Challenge #31! came to the rescue, thus, the Saturday before Fathers' day I got to work on this fun technique: Layering Stencils: Pain Resist from the latest book from Tim Holtz, Compendium of Curiosities 3.
Here is the finished project:

I had an idea of what I wanted for the front of the holder and mod podged a napkin with this vintage flag motif and distressed it further with broken china distress paint (Ranger).

For the back:

It is where I really did the portrayed technique for this challenge and had fun using Picket Fence distress paint, several distress inks, and more stencils by Tim. The technique worked its magic and highlighted the details I wanted...
I used some paper from CTMH's old collection Zarzaparrilla to cover the other faces of the holder and these papers country style really complimented the look.

I used some embossed papers I found a our local scrapbook store to cover the boot and distressed it using vintage photo distress ink.

 I cut out a star from the napkin and cover the provided shipboard star in this kit and attached in top of the other star.

 I did the same for the back of the holder

and a closeup of the lower part:

The K-cup holder is from a local company: Heart of Texas Studios.

En ese entonces no habia muchos sellos en español y encontre este dicho en pergamino y me encanto.

Ahora gracias a Dios ya muchas compañias se han dado cuenta de la necesidad de expresarnos en español que tenemos las chicas latinas en Estados Unidos y en otras partes del mundo. Genial!!!
