Spring Frame

Dear scrappers,
Second post during the same day and using up the opportunity of my Surface...
I had some left overs of my Sweet Sentiments Graphic 45 paper and decided to make a more spring themed frame.
I used as inspiration de Simon says Monday Challenge: Love of Plants

Here is the finished frame:

This is a more playful version than the previous Easter frame. I used more glitter glue for the middle frame. I also decided to leave the frames without background to get more depth. I also used more the vines between the frames to get a more unified feel.

This is a closeup of each one of the single panels.
The materials were the same as before...

Graphic 45 Easter Frame

Dear scrappers,

I'm trying to catch up with some projects I did lately and haven't shared with you yet.
I have tried to post this since a while, but finally I had to re-install BloPress in my iPad... And still can't access my picture libraries... No cool...
Oh my, after so many times trying to post from my iPad, I finally gave up and I'm trying to post from my surface computer...

Here is a Sweet Sentiment Easter Frame that I did for for a class in April.

 I started with this more flat version of a 3 spaces wooden frame I found a while ago at Walmart.

 And did some new ones using this 3 spaces with hinges frame I bought at Michaels.

 I used the back of the frame and painted it with creme acrylic paints and distressed it out with Mustard seed ink (Ranger).
I added pieces of the Graphic 45 paper and heat embossed some stamped borders directly to the frame and distressed it with twilight ink.
 I used some packing cardboard and peeled off one side to use as grass. I added some inks, and paints, to a plastic plate and spritzed water to blend it the colors, then just dipped the fussy cut "grass" pieces.

At the end, I distressed the whole frame with different glitter glues and stamped the edges of the frame using twilight ink (CTMH). Stamps used were from Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments.
I added some eggs washi tape to cardstock and cut around the eggs to use as embellishments.

Teacher appreciation gifts

Dear scrappers,

After a long break of publishing, I'm back and we one of my latest project I did for children teachers (spoilers alert)...
I used the latest CCC3 challenge 27 (embossing diffusers)

I really enjoyed doing this challenge as it brought me out of my creativity box...

This time i will have my pictures do all the talking and tell the story:

 the technique, which you can find at CCC3, page 61
some distressing and measurement.

Inks, paints and stains from ranger and colored the apples for the embellisments...

 I used some of CTMH stamps and also from TH...

I got creative to make a ribbon hanger for the finished letters...

Hopscotch Layout for my club

Dear scrappers,
I wanted to participate in some games and challenges and had some leftover paper from my Hopscotch paper and its complements.
When I saw the challenge at:
use your stuff , I immediately though about the hopscotch complements because this challenge featured an sketch using the honeycombs and those the ones from the complements were perfect.

Additionally. I wanted to play in the hopscotch game at the Make From Your Heart Blog and since I am teaching my scrapbooking club tomorrow using the hopscotch papers and WOTG, I decided to use the previously mentioned sketch and play.

 I even used the negative part of the stickers as embellishments:

I always like to show my students that besides the bonus sketch displayed in the WOTG, they can use their paper leftover and just add some cardstock  for their background and use the sketch from the WOTG differently and make it their own. Those I kind of combined both sketches:

This layout was super easy to make and using the WOTG and complements really make scrapbooking a breeze...

It's a Boy Minialbum

Dear Scrappers,
Two post in one day, great, you can see that I gave up TV for lent ;-)
More time to create and to keep up with my blog :-))

I used this time as inspiration the challenge posted in:

Challenge #173 - Circles

 I made this book for my Mother in Law for her birthday, I am highlighting in it my son's first year:

 I used many cricut cuts and a minibook cutout I got long time ago.

I used some acrylic cutouts as embellishments and some rhinestones, inks and markers from CTMH and may many CIRCLES... the cardstock, I used as mats and for my cricut cuts , came in my first consultant kit  from 2007 (CTMH) and it was textured and had lighter backside.

I was fun using my older batch of supplies...

First Communion Favors and some Challenges

 Dear Scrappers,
I did some bookmarks for as little favors for my son and some of his friends for their first communion.

I used some challenges:
4 crafty chicks

and took some acrylic angels from Clear Scraps from mini books, I bought last year in CKC Houston and used them as my main idea;

 The second challenge, I used as inspirations was heart 2 heart challenges:

enTWINEd

and used some scapulary, I bought from a catholic store, instead of twine or ribbon to hang from the bookmark. The shoulder bands are made out of entwined silk threads similar to the ones in baker twine...

 I used alcohol inks and used some techniques I learned as a teacher assistant to Susan from Clear Scraps to ink the head, winds, and dress from the angel:

 I used a silver leaving marker to highlight the edges of the angel's wings:

 For the prayer, I used some I found in some first communion cards at that catholic store and added my child information, printed them using my HP photosmart premium printer. I later cut the angels and the trapezoid prayers using my scan and cut from Brother.

I did have some problems cutting the angels (the scan'n cut didn't recognized all the angels printed in one page). Next time I will try my luck with my scan and cut function from my cricut explorer, however, this time I was in a time cramp and I had to do around 20 angels... Who knows, maybe I won't have the same problems using the explorer...

Here are some pictures from the front and back of the finished angels and from the finished favors:

 I used some Rock Candy glitter from Ranger to give some highlit to the wings in the back of the card and distressed the edges using my Slate ink from CTMH:
