St. Valentine's goody bags for the teachers

Dear scrappers,

What a crazy week!!!
Well, after several days of barely sleeping, I survived :-)

I made between one class at the college, a acrylic album class at home, and many quizzes to grade, these goody bags for my children's teachers:

I used some leftover stamped sentiments from last year's valentines and used them in a different way ;-)

I decorated the origami owl take out boxes for the lockets that I got for the two teachers and decorated some acrylic boxes I got at StampAntonio for the teacher aids...

I stamped my children names using some Color Box's Surfacez ink pad in Lila.

I added some Rhine stones, CTMH, for more interest.

And used the Aryanna's left over cut from my library Layouts to wrap the boxes using some more borders' scallop negative left over as little belts...
I punched some tags using recollection's emboss and punch kit...

Great, it was a very quick project and I was able to acknowledge my children's teachers :-)
I hope you enjoy this quick project,
Have a wonderful short week

Free Valentine's day layout event at the Forest Hill library

Dear scrappers,
Happy new year!!!
Omg, I am so behind my new year resolutions, but I am planning on catching up this week.
I have 3 classes planned and I am assisting another one... Crazyyyy
I don't know if I will have some time left over for doing my kids teachers' goody bags ;-)
Good I planned head and both to the two more important ones some origami Owl lockets, chains, and charms :-)
http://vickytovar.origamiowl.com

The first class is a free event that is sponsored by the patrons at the Forest Hill library, where my work was show-cases back in. November: http://vickyscrappingpassion.blogspot.com/2013/10/forest-hill-library-display.html?m=0

This will be a beginners class. Details are to be found in our meetup group:
http://www.meetup.com/SAscrapbooking/events/160288102/

thus I chose the alternative sketch from the Ivy Lane WOTH, CTMH:
http://vicky-sa-scrapbooking.ctmh.com/retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=7632&CatalogID=1733

This is my version...

I substituted the papers with the ones included in the Ariana WOTH, CTMH:

http://vicky-sa-scrapbooking.ctmh.com/retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=7633&CatalogID=1733

The green and pink combo is just perfect for Valentine's day. I used the sentiment from January constant campaign card WOTG: dream pop... And I will have different color options of card stock mats, cut out and embellishments: some flowers cut with the cricut with their leaves, some rhinestones from the new drops from CTMH, and some acrylic flowers in pink. Super cute.

Come and join me to help promote this wonderful library, it is a free event, donations for the library are welcome though :-)

Hope to see you there,

Vicky

Last post for 2013 and Happy New Year

Dear Scrappers,
For my last of the year, I saved the little favor boxes that I decorated for my dear friends and my children's teachers:

I bought the take-out boxes last January at Big Lots and got some ceramic crosses, corn flowers, and a corn-angel from the Market downtown...
I made the tags using the dimensional element shapes from CTMH and some tags from a Christmas favor kits (CTMH). I stamped in archival black ink (CTMH) the baby Jesus and in gold the start. In ruby ink, I added a "December 25" from the Sparkle and Shine WOTG (CTMH).

On the back, I stamped either my children's names, or our family name and some sayings...

This is how the teachers' favors looked like when done...

This year, I didn't have much trouble finishing around 20 of those taking those nice shortcuts ;-)
Thank you for following me through this year. I hope to see your comments during next year as well and wish you best luck, health, love, and happiness for the 2014!!!!
Happy New Year
Vicky

Time for Christmas Cards and more Challeges

Dear scrappers,
So many project, so little time, and so many blog challenges to get inspired:
For today I took two, time to Sparkle & Shine at H2H blog and Ruby & Juniper at Color my Heart Color dare Blog:
http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/2013/12/time-to-sparkle-and-shine.html
And

I helped a friend to make some cards (thank you Dawn) when she bought the big card kit from CTMH Shine & Sparkle at Gloria's (my CTMH upper line) and we made the 2 cards suggested in the instruction and them we had fun making changes using the cut kit pieces, the flourish, and ruby glitter tape from CTMH:

Here is my take for both challenges:

I hope you enjoy my cards, and get further inspired.
Have a blessed week and wish you Merry Christmas if I don't get to blog before the 25th,
Vicky

Another Quick Project: "Gift Card Holder"

Dear scrappers,
Once again, I decided to do a quick gift card holder for my Angel project at my local parish:

I used the BigZ die for memo holders and updated to hold a gift card by scoring it the size of the card and attaching another piece of paper with washi tape (CTMH).

I used one 6x12 piece of B&T from CTMH to cut the holder, the flowers (included in the died) and the small piece to hold the card.
This paper is great because is thick enough and double sided. The piece I used was from last year Christmas collection...
I added a piece of ribbon as handle and fussy cut two small leaves from glitter ribbon. The flower should had 3 layers, but I lost one and didn't want you waist more time cutting it again, my has only 2 and serves to keep the holder close...
To finish the look, I just added a Rhinestone to center of the flower, a small piece of the edge paper strip of the paper, and another star rhinestone to highlight the paper strip.

I was finish in less than 6 min., thus I decided to enter this project to the 10 min. Craft-32 challenge:
http://prettypinkposh.com/2013/12/10-minute-craft-dash-32.html
This is my second entrance...
I am also participating in the Blog Quick Quotes Friday Challenge 34:
http://www.blogquickquotes.com/2013/12/friday-challenge-34.html

I hope you enjoy this quick and neat project. Right due cut can make your life so much easier...
Have a wonderful weekend,
Vicky

Quicky Project and Nice Card for a Wine Bottle

Dear scrappers,
I made this quick wine card for a friend and had less than 10 min. To finish it, thus I decided to use the 10 minute craft-32 challenge as my inspiration:
http://prettypinkposh.com/2013/12/10-minute-craft-dash-32.html

I used a 3x12 inches of B&T CTMH paper from last year Christmas collection. I folded it in 4 and sealed it with a CTMH poinsettia brad. I added a piece of ribbon and glued it to the middle to served as a handle.

I used a piece of the CTMH tags dimensional elements to stamp my Sparkle & Shine sentiment. I added a ruby inked veneer bird as accent to finish the look.

I added another sentiment to the back and hand -wrote the names. I was done in 7 min. With enough time to wrap the bottle with cellophane paper and add a ribbon...
I just added 2 chocolates to the little pockets and voila I was done ;-)
It was a fun project to make, thus I made 3 more using the Shine and Sparkle left over pieces from my WSOTG... And used the
Heart to heart spark and shine blog challenge to make 3 more for other gifts:
http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/2013/12/time-to-sparkle-and-shine.html

I hope you enjoy these projects as much as I did. I got the little card ideas from another CTMH consultant: Linda, thank you girl...
Merry Christmas

Christmas Canvas- 2nd Sample

Dear Scrappers,

After finishing my previous sample, I realized that I didn't have enough white embroidery paper for all the class kits. Thus, I decided to do a sample using an more gold color palette coordinating with the other papers included in the handmade paper pack:

I let my kids (my 6 yo boy and my 4 yo daughter) help me cover some of the dimensional shapes from CTMH with washi tape. Btw they each did a triangle of my Christmas tree sample...
I know they might not be perfect, but I love them because they made them :-)
Thus, I left mine out and just showcase theirs. I might put a note in the back of the canvas to journal their ages and the date they made the ornaments...

I added the same elements to the canvas and this time I distressed with brass Tim Holtz distressing ink...
I added three silk flowers from Michaels and used a different punch around the page punch from MS...

I was very surprise to realize that my son's ornaments weren't that different from mine, meaning that he is very talented (or I that I not that much... Let's keep it at he is really talented ;-)
He even added a smily face with my crop-a-dile...
I added some inked veneer birds that I got from Stamp Antonio last year.

I stamped some Christmas flowers with clear ink (CTMH) and sprinkle some golden glitter embossing powder and heat embossed the sole background:

I used a different sentiment from another CTMH stamp set from last year and stamped directly to a piece of the gold-pieces-containing paper, trimmed it, and attached with dimensional glue dots:

I will submit this project again to the Connie can Crop blog challenge, We washi you a Merry Christmas:

I hope you enjoy this project and its versatility...
Best weekend to you my dear scrappers,
