I used some washi tape and some fun twine  from Connie's crafty card. Some WeRM papers, the SOTM from CTMH, watercoloring pencils, some distressed flowers and glass beads (From a St. V. mixed media kit) from Creative Embellistments, CTMH ink pads, Artistry cart, and liquid glass, and other random paper scraps.

For the inside:

I hope you enjoy it and follow me to.

For my challenge, I helped my son to make a Viking chiseled for his academic showcase day:

The Viking Shield was made out of a paper board cake plate, a sippy cup cap as the silver center, foil tape (the one used by the A/C repair companies), here are some of the other materials we used:

Here is my son painting the pink rubber sippy cup cap, first with gesso and then with silver acrylic paint:

I prepared a colored paste to give some texture to the shield, by combining fluffy modeling paste with a lighter brown acrylic paint.

And then, I scrachted it out to add the Nordic symbol:

Later,
I added some shimmering using tattered angels spray, painted the symbol with silver acrylic paint and added the metallic tape around the shield.
I carved some Nordic runes in the tape all around the chiseled, added some silver painted Rhine stones to make the shield more realistic.
 Some close ups:

I added some of the darker brown acrylic paint around the symbol to add more depth to it.

I hope you decide to join this fun challenge and share with us your work.

Enjoy the April's rains,

Vicky Tovar

I am joining some challenges myself:
