Dear Scrappers,
This is my post for Paper Wings Productions: Day of Dead altar/ house I made to teach my crafty friends.
I used Paper Wings Productions:
I also used:
White cardstock
Neon colors cardstocks
Glitter cardstock
Crafty Chica day of dead printed cardstock
Liquid Glass
Distress Inks: antique linen, Ranger
Many little findings
Gesso, Hero Stamps liquid ink in Teal
Tissue paper
Mod Podge
Metal dies: Sizzix Crafty Chica dies
Michael's house
Cut n' Boss
Here some closeups:
For this project, I tinted the gesso with the liquid teal ink and roughly painted the walls and outside of the house:
Then, I modpodge some tissue papers on the outside walls of the house to resemble stucco.
I cut several pieces of glitter paper and neon papers with the metal dies using my Cut n' Boss and Crafty Chica dies.
I stamped the banners on a crafty material I found at Hobby Lobby and cut then out:
I glued the banner pieces using fabric pressure tape to thick twine:
And added to the house using the CTMH pins:
Choose the pieces of printed cardstock for the walls:
I made a small table out of tread spool and round piece of wood:
I glued a dolly die cut to it and decorated a piece of plastic (found at the doll houses department at Hobby LObby) resembling a candle:
Finally after many other steps I decorated the house with the many findings to resemble a Mexican Day of the Dead altar telling a forever love story.
I added a tea light decorated with paper behind the banner I made:
I hope you enjoyed my little altar and visit The Aviary, Paper wings Productions' blog
Have wonderful and blessed day,
Vicky Tovar
