Eureka Stamps' Challenge theme this week is
Anything Goes
Anything Goes
As many of you might know already, I am taking the Wanderlust online classes. The teacher a few weeks ago was Andy Skinner, one of my favorite artist. He feature a dry-brush technique using a shadow box frame from a kit. I felt immediately in love with this technique, so I decided to use the 28301 Riverwalk image from Eureka Stamps and do this technique to a very simple wooden frame from Michaels.
This was my first frame, which I made it for my son's teacher, who is leaving the school as end-off-the year gift:
The image was watercolored using H2O shimmering watercolors.
some close-ups:
I used all this materials for the frame:
Creative Embellishments laser cut shipboard from their mixed media kit: https://creativeembellishments.com/mixed-media-kits/february-kit.html
and some firebrick distress paint from Ranger.
I had so much fun doing this technique that I made a second frame, using a word for the shipboard embellishment I used:
I am loving this technique and I think my second trial went better too.
Some closeups:
I would love to enter the following challenges:
Inspiration: bird, Road runner and Color combination
Wood: Frame, Word: Explore, something Wild: Andy's technique
Good luck in the Eureka Stamp Challenge,
Vicky Tovar
