Eureka Stamps' Challenge theme this week is 

Anything Goes

As many of you might know already, I am taking the Wanderlust online classes. The teacher a few weeks ago was Andy Skinner, one of my favorite artist. He feature a dry-brush technique using a shadow box frame from a kit. I felt immediately in love with this technique, so I decided to use the 28301 Riverwalk  image from Eureka Stamps and do this technique to a very simple wooden frame from Michaels.

This was my first frame, which I made it for my son's teacher, who is leaving the school as end-off-the year gift:

The image was watercolored using H2O shimmering watercolors.

I used all this materials for the frame:

and some firebrick distress paint from Ranger.

I had so much fun doing this technique that I made a second frame, using a word for the shipboard embellishment I used:

I am loving this technique and I think my second trial went better too.

Eureka Stamps Challenge #194 Pretty in Pink

Eureka Stamps' challenge theme this week is:

Pretty in Pink

For this project I was thinking on doing some bookmarks using the 35702 Rose Border digital file from Eureka Stamps, but I had printed out too big and I really liked how it goes with the new paper pack from CTMH Happy times.

I really like the gold foiling of the rose flower papers from this collection and wanted to mimic it on the printed rose border, thus I did gold foiling with it:

 Then I did some watercoloring using TH distress markers:

 And used some of the white and gold stripped paper from this collection for the card base and to dive the rose border image a skinny gold frame.

 I stamped the back of the card with my name and it bled through, so I added some more white daisy cardstock to stamp a sentiment later on.

Bookmarks for Teachers Appreciation Week

Good morning dear scrappers,

I wanted to share with you these bookmarks, I made for teachers' appreciation week.

I started making some pillow gift boxes using TH die. Note: don't try to cut more than one piece of paper with this die because the embossed part of the box will be cut instead. I did it and ended up having to adhere the box lids with washi tape, very annoying.

Then I cut some tags using Paper Artist dies (from a Paper Wishes monthly die-club) from several school related B&T papers from CTMH (all retired collections, using my stash...). I like this tags because they are big enough to serve as bookmarks.

Then, I stamped the back with a CTMH stamp for the sentiment and some of my children's names stamps I have.

For the front, I stamped the sentiment and and cut them using a Martha Stewart punch. Using another punch I cut some red cardstock squares and stamped them with the apples.

I had some strip borders and used them randomly as decoration for the tags.

The binder paper strips are the negatives from a CM border punch I had in my stash.

I just love this Creative Embellishments wooden shapes, those I made holes using my crocodile and used as dangle with some twine.

 I also colored another wooden shape (the  apple with the worm) and added to one special bookmark:

Finally. I attached one pillow box to each laminated bookmark with scotch tape:

I hope the teachers and you like their little bookmarks and the few goodies I could fit in these pillow gift boxes.
