DT Seguras Crafts: Believe Easter Card

Dear scrappers,

Here is my next design for the company: Seguras Crafts.
This time I decided to make an easter’s card for someone very special for my family. I loved how the  “Believe In Yourself” stamp is versatile that I can even use it for a religious card. I just focused on the “Believe” part. I rummaged through my craft stash and found this old but unused stepper card die from Tattered Lace. Just perfect. I also used some ready made cards and tricked it into fitting the die.
I used the Cloud of Hope from Seguras Crafts (coming soon, stay posted) was just what I needed for the background. Focusing on the sentiment it helps to imaging that beliefs are cosmic in nature and this paper brings so much hope in life, nature, and our own religious believes.
I was so surprised that inside the tattered lace die set, the Easter Lilies die was included and remembered that I had the perfect cross (CMTH) available in my never ending crafting stash.

I also used Seguras high quality cardstocks (I’m still working on the affiliated links, until then, I will just add direct links to the products that I use) for diecutting the cross and stamping the sentiment. I used Anthracyte and Crystal vision purpleI really love the nice pearlescent shimmer of this cardstocks. You can see it best on the cross:

I really enjoyed this project and hope it does bring some happiness and love to our dear friends starting a new beginning in a new city, but close to their family. We really miss them and wanted to express it in our card:

For this post I wanted to try to make a little video of my process. I am terrible at expressing with words my feelings but hopefully my work speaks for my feelings. Here we go:

DT Seguras Crafts: Believe in Yourself Shaker Tag for my Board

Dear scrappers,

Here is my next design for the company: Seguras Crafts.

As I commented before, I started revamping my school board. I started with my first post for Seguras Crafts, here. Now the next steps are a series of reaffirmation tags to hang from the tree.

The  “Believe In Yourself” stamp is perfect for these tags. So I started with the “Believe in yourself” sentiment, which I had to kind of cramp in the tag space (CTMH) I choose for this purpose:

I started by choosing the background paper and decided that the Cloud of Hope from Seguras Crafts (coming soon, stay posted) was perfect.

It gives such a dreaming in the clouds vibe. See the many choices (spoilers alert) included in the package:

Though choice. I went for the one that looks like rising clouds. The colors spoke to me. The blue signifying calm. And the little purple meaning wisdom and creativity. Very motivating for my little tag. I used the CTMH circle shaker. I cut 5 pieces of the white window to give it depth. And cut the starts with the Seguras high quality cardstocks (I’m still working on the affiliated links, until then, I will just add direct links to the products that I use). I used Crystal vision purple  and Petal Whisper Pink.

Then I used some StazOn inks in cloudy grey and blue hawii, also the HeroArts red ink (I don’t know the name of this color) to stamp the sentiment. The red shows nicely in the almost overlapping words:

To make the “in” shine more I added a Seguras Crafts’ Rhinestones in And Opal Glow. Then I glue 4 pieces of the window diecuts to the shaker base (I glued a tag diecut from Sizzix) to be able to hang my shaker tag. I glued a piece of a Page-protector to the 5th window diecut piece to finish the window. I added the starts diecuts (they shine beautifully) and Seguras Crafts’ Rhinestones In Aurora Gleam (Coming Soon) to add more shine. Finally I glued the window to the shaker part and added some string.

And the final result so far:

Kids are loving it. They like the colors and the shaker parts… For the next tags, stay connected and follow me.

I hope you enjoyed this fun ongoing project and join me in checking Seguras Crafts (and facebook page) and following the other amazing design team members.

DT Seguras Crafts: Believe in Yourself Mixed Media Canvas

Dear scrappers,

As promised my second design for the company: Seguras Crafts.

I started this canvas during a painting lesson by a friend of a friend of mine. It was supposed to be just a collage with simple painting on it:

But when I saw the  “Believe In Yourself” stamp, I couldn’t  help it and had to stop the painting and do stamping and mixed media instead. This stamp is perfect. The little messages are so inspiring and perfect for Mother’s day gift or for a nice card of encouragement.

I started by painting the background using turquoise and dark blue acrylic paint, the I added the pieces of paper with paper glue following roughly the wings outline.
Then I wanted to use the black and dark blue inks to stamp the “Believe in Yourself” sentiment, with the bad luck that I didn’t notice that my old black (CTMH) inkpad was damaged and falling apart. As you can see in the picture in the middle, the stamping was totally irregular even using books as support for the stamps… well what to do… I decided to fill in the words with some enamel accents by Rangers. I really liked this raised and shinny outcome. For the “in” sentiment I used the very light blue almost white nuvo drops. I also stamped around the hearts and starts:

For the next steps, I used Multi Medium Matte (Rangers) to seal the collage papers, and applied a layer of clear gesso (LiquiTex) to add some grip for the next layers. I wasn’t very happy with the light color of the nuvo drops, so inked them a little bit:

I wasn’t totally happy with my previous stamping job and still wanted to add the rest of the sentiments, which are a lot smaller, so I ended up stamping them on white tissue paper using black StazOn ink and add the cut strips with ModPodge:

I added color to the stamped harts using Deco Glitter marker and outlined the collage with a metallic acrylic marker.
I still wanted to add more layers, so I sprayed white Dylusions ink, dried and sprayed randomly blueish Tattered Angels ink for added shimmer. It is hard to capture both effects with the camera:

It wasn’t still shimmering enough, thus I felt inspired tHe Seguras Crafts’ Rhinestones In Aurora Gleam (Coming Soon) And Ocean Bliss and added them using glossy accents to the stamped starts, which were becoming almost invisible after the many layers:

I love love the shine in this canvas and I am sure that the person for whom (secret) I made it will feel inspired and her spirit lifted by this angels wings telling her so many loving and uplifting words of so much need self love.

I hope you join me in checking Seguras Crafts and following the other amazing design team members.
