Girl's Room Decor with the Cricut

Dear scrappers,
I just wanted to share a quick project that a friend of mine and I did for her daughter's room:

We created 4 12"x12" panels with different CTMH papers and decorated some My World cart's horse cuts with blings and shipboard die cuts.
My friend is going to frame the panels and hang them in her daughter's room...
Very easy and quick project. The final effect is just great ;-)

I hope you enjoy it
Vicky

Scheduling a meetup in San Antonio scrapbooking Meetup group

Dear scrappers,
I have been trying to answer this question the best way I can, but a picture is worth thousand words:

List:
Click on the "+ schedule a meetup" or "+ suggest a Meetup" link under my greeting.
Fill out the questions, and hit schedule or suggest a meetup blue box and you are done.

I don't get an email letting me know, when a scrapper scheduled a meetup. Thus, be patient with me and send me an email letting me know, that way I can approve and announce your meetup right away.

Make sure you did pay the yearly meetup dues to be fair to the other paid scrappers, and voila you have scheduled a meetup.

Thank you scrappers, and have a wonderful day...

H2H Challenge: Teacher Appreciation--May Entry #2

Dear Scrappers,
Happy Mother's Day!!!
I hope you have a great either with your kids or with your Mom, a dear friend, the family :-)
Today is a good day to share my recent project: teacher appreciation's bookmarks/ goodie bags toppers.

I made this bookmarks following the same basics that I did for my Mother's Day ones: http://vickyscrappingpassion.blogspot.com/2013/05/mothers-day-celebration-bookmarks-and.html
I used my gypsy to design the bookmarks with the carts: My World, Wild Cards, and both CTMH's Artise and Art Philosophy.
For the base I used a frame shape cut from the Art Philosophy cart and stamped with a frame from the Frame Flair stamp set. I bended the cuts in half and added magnets to each site. I covered the outer magnet with circle cuts stamped with the Kuddos and Hero's sentiment stamps.

I cut the apple and its layers from the My World cart at 2" and the sentiment from Wild Card at 3". I tried to cut it smaller, but it kept ruining my paper, so I had to use a brand new blade and cut the sentiment bigger.
I ended up using a white marker to add some contrast to my sentiment, though.
I used the bookmarks to top some biscotti's that I bought at Costco and hid them in my kids folders for their teachers to find. I gave some to carline volunteers and other teachers in my kids' lives.

I hope you enjoy my latest project and please leave a comment ;-)
Have a wonderful week,
Vicky

H2H Challenge: Teacher Appreciation--May Entry #1

Dear scrappers,
I made this modified clipboard for my son's teacher as one of this week's teacher appreciation presents:

This clipboard is supposed to coordinate with the previous Valentine's gifts: http://vickyscrappingpassion.blogspot.com/2013/03/h2h-challenge-go-green-march-entry-1.html
For this present, I left my cricut rest a little bit and just used the MS medallion punch, the Monogram CTMH stamp, Pacifica ink pad, the Elemental B&Ts with its border, and some velvet ribbon. I bought the clipboard, note pad with magnets and bow, and the eraser at Target's dollar section at the same time that I bought my previous materials for the Valentines.

I used the bow from the note pad to make a loop to attach the eraser and covered it with some B&T.

To finish my gift, I made a coordinated tag using some old retired cardstock from CTMH and some canvas elements. I used as grounding element some left over cuts from my valentine's folgers containers:

I hope you enjoy this post, please leave a comment with you positive critic ;-)
Have a great week.
Coming: bookmarks for the teachers ;-)

Mothers' Day celebration's bookmarks---and Fantabulous-friday-#158-paper-roses

Dear scrappers,
I made these bookmarks for my friends in our Mothers' day celebration. I used the idea of paper flowers from Fantaboulous Friday challenge:
http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/2013/05/fantabulous-friday-158-paper-roses.html

I used the Chantilly WOTG (CTMH) Color combination and Rhine stones, but used June 2013 SOTM for the flowers and the coordinated cuts from the Artise Cartridge.

As base I used the the Frame Flair stamps and their Art Philosophy coordinated cuts.

For my sentiment, I used the stamps from the cricut Kudos collection for Artise, but used the circle frames from the Perfect Fit-Mom stamp set

-

I followed the recommendations in each stamp to set the size of each cut in my gypsy. It is no necessary to use the gypsy for this project, but it was much easier and quicker using it to cut everything for 12 bookmarks with cricut.
I used a magnet on each side of the frame to keep the bookmarks secure in place. I cut small squares from magnetic tape strips from Basics Elements, however, I recommend to use stronger magnets to secure ticker pages or to covert the magnets with cardstock. I couldn't cover both pieces because the magnets would not close the bookmark in place:

I then used the bookmarks to close some goody bags with cookies:

I used the goody bags as decoration for the table, where we placed the gifts for our exchange:

As always, please send me a note or your email address if your are interested in having the gypsy file...
Have a great weekend,

Vicky
